The galvanization of galvanized highway guardrails is a prerequisite for the related work of later protection, and manufacturers generally attach great importance to this process.
When casting is cooled, it is reminded that the phenomenon of white mouth is often easily produced on the surface and thin section of the galvanized guard rail. The characteristic of white mouth tissue is hard and brittle, poor in processing performance, and easy to peel off. Therefore, we must use annealing to eliminate white mouth tissue.
All components should be accurate in cutting, and the component length can be allowedto have an error of 1mm. It is necessary to check whether the components are straight before cutting, otherwise they need to be straightened.
When welding, welding rods or wires should be selected that are suitable for the material of galvanized highway guardrail to be welded, and there should be valid factory certificates.
The welding points between the components should be firm, the welding seams should be full, and the welding ripples on the surface of the welding seams should be uniform, without edge biting, incomplete welding, cracks, residuals, welding nodules, burn-through, arc scratches, arc pits, and needle-shaped porosity. There should be no spatter in the welding area.
The galvanized guard rail should be ground flat and smooth, and there should be no welding slag, collapse, burrs, or unpolished conditions; the rail joints should be tight, with no cracks, warping, or forging marks.
The galvanized highway guardrail has the ability to absorb collision energy strongly and has good visual induction function. It can coordinate with the road line shape, has a beautiful appearance, and can be used on small radius bends. The damaged parts are easy to replace. If there is leakage welding, it is necessary to remove the welding slag before carrying out supplementary welding.
After the galvanized highway guardrail is welded, the welding slag should be knocked off.
The paint surface should be flat and uniform, without color difference or paint leakage. The appearance of the galvanized highway guardrail should be smooth and uniform, without wrinkles, bubbles, porosity, sagging, cracks, inclusions, sticky properties, scratches, and other defects.
The height, spacing, and installation orientation of the railing should meet the planning requirements. The galvanized highway guardrail is the main form of semi-rigid guardrails, which is a continuous structure composed of corrugated steel guardrail panels spliced together and supported by columns.
The vertical spacing between railings is not greater than 110mm, and the error of the galvanized highway guardrail should be no more than 3mm. The vertical plane perpendicularity of the railings should not be greater than 3mm, and the horizontal plane straightness should not be greater than 4mm. The height error of the railings should be no more than 3mm.
